Sean McRitchie
Director, Economic Development and Tourism
With a background in building strong relationships across various sectors, Sean collaborates with builders, developers, brokerages, lenders, business owners, and large multinational corporations for Alberta’s Industrial Heartland and the Strathcona Industrial Association within Strathcona County, located in the Alberta capital region.
Before working for Strathcona County, Sean was a part of the senior management team in Economic Development for the City of St. Albert. Sean’s primary focus in this role was the development of a strategic investment framework and implementing the strategies to generate and attract investment.
Earlier, Sean led a business unit for the German-based multinational petrochemical company BASF. In this role, Sean managed the supply chain, sales, promotion, and strategic planning for performance materials in Western Canada.
Sean holds a business degree from Concordia University and his professional Economic Development designation from the University of Waterloo.
Stephen Rausch
Manager, Investment Attraction
Stephen leads activities and initiatives to attract new investment into Strathcona County.
Stephen and the Investment Attraction team leverage their experience working with major global corporations, strategic investors and industrial/commercial developers to facilitate the growth of critical diversification and value-added sectors in Strathcona County.
With over a decade of business development experience, Stephen has a proven track record leading major projects for multinational corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental institutions. This includes the strategic development of partnership portfolios and attraction of large-scale investment for the Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton International Airport, University of Alberta, City of St. Albert, and Strathcona County.

Stephanie Budynski
Economic Development Officer, Diversification
Stephanie Budynski is Strathcona County’s Economic Development Officer for Diversification.
She is an experienced economist working within economic development and is passionate about how data can be transformed into compelling narratives, shedding light on trends, patterns, and insights that drive informed decision-making.
Stephanie holds a MSc in Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology and a BA in Economics with a Certificate in Economics and the Management of Natural Resources, Energy and the Environment from the University of Alberta. Her thesis work focused on examining local and place-based food systems with a particular focus on Alberta’s microbrewing industry.
Tyson Munro
Economic Development Officer, Diversification
Tyson is Strathcona County’s economic development officer, diversification.
In his previous role as Fund Development Officer with Habitat for Humanity Edmonton, he demonstrated to donors and corporate partners how their investment can make the difference in the lives of young families. In addition, during his time as Sales Representative with PepsiCo, he managed a large portfolio of retail customers to drive volume and execute strategic marketing programs. He has an innate ability for establishing relationships and gaining trust while consistently overachieving on my targets. Tyson obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a major in Sport Coaching at the University of Alberta. During his academic career, he had the pleasure of working for Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) supporting both the Ticketing and Premium Service teams as well as coaching in the Oilers Hockey Institute. He has applied his education throughout his professional career and continues to act as Head Coach for elite level minor hockey. Tyson believes in giving back to the community and takes pleasure in helping to develop the next generation of leaders.
